October 17th, 2002

In attendance: Heather, Tom, Dawn, Colin, Bobby, Michelle, Kristine, Kt. General Taylor(late), Princess(late), Duchess(very late)

7:30 - Meeting begins.

7:33 - General Taylor and Princess come in late.

7:34 - Colin hands out by laws to the venturer crew.

7:44 - Colin gives us a detailed description of the cyst that formed on his wrist for carpal-tunnel syndrome. We are disgusted.

7:47 - Kristine slips Heather some pills over the table for all to see. The contents are unknown but I guess that they are some sort of elephant aphrodisiac.

7:48 - Due to a lot of position needed filled, almost everyone needs to run for a position.

7:49 - Duchess arrives very late. For shame.

7:51 - Colin gives us the old responsibility chat.

7:52 - Dawn gives us her platform as president. She plans reform!!

7:54 - Taylor gives a stirring speech for secretary that Charles Foster Kane would be jealous of.

7:55 - Kt wants to run for Treasurer.

7:56 - Rob says more of the same for next year if he is elected president.

7:57 - Michelle also wants to run for treasurer. Kt doesn't seem to pleased.

7:58 - A little Q&A session ensues. Mr. Wisken rudely interrupts the meeting and offers us the challenge of running the cub Halloween party. Hmm…we get to scare a bunch of eight year olds???? Hell yes!!!!

8:02 - Kristine asks what sort of changes to better the running of meetings will be made by the president next year. Rob feels the mutual bonding of the group last year will naturally lend itself to better meetings. Dawn wants to reinstate the executive meetings.

8:06 - Dawn seems to think more structured conversations will help with meetings. I think that we are all just too damn witty. Dawn wants more fundraising.

8:07 - Kt brings the wheels of progress grinding to a halt.

8:08 - Now the Q&A for the treasurer. Kristine would like to know the experience of the candidates.

8:11 - Taylor is now secretary. We are all doomed. A motion is thrown onto the floor for improvements to the web site.

8:13 - We vote.

8:15 - Drum roll……………Michelle is the treasurer.

8:16 - And now……..John tastes like sawdust….oh yeah and Rob is the president.

8:18 - Kt and Dawn will now duke it out for vice presidency. We hear there platforms.

8:22 - The voting begins.

8:23 - And Dawn is the vice president in the closest vote since Bush and Gore. Kt declines the position of fund raising coordinator. We need to figure out how this role will be filled.

8:25 - John seems to think he can handle the role. The need of fundraising does not seem to be a pressing one, so most likely we will wait for investiture to fill the role with now full members. We motion to defer.

8:31 - Colin puts forth the idea for the president and vice to send out an agenda for each week.

8:33 - 2002 - 2003 venturer elections are now closed!!!

8:34 - Tom buggers off. We discuss apple day. We need people out for 6:00pm tomorrow and Saturday at 9:00 (am that is).

8:37 - Leaf raking. Rob has booking for many housies. Nov 2nd and 3rd is the BIG house, we need many people out. 26th 27th, 9th and 10th are the other dates.

8:41 - Mistletoe is Nov 9th. Looks like we will be taking shifts with the raking. Dawn will do a cake run. And finally a camp on the 23rd.

8:45 - No venturers on the 31st of Oct. We will use the cub Halloween party for the meeting time.

8:46 - We work on quickly throwing together a Halloweeny party for the cubs. Rob suggests a game from Beaver past as a spooky tour through the church. Kristine needs to check with Alan for the food and drinks. Everyone needs to send out some idea's for Halloween stuff to Kristine (Ha Kristine! The system works!!!)

8:49 - Jan 30th, Feb 1st and 2rd for winter camp. We don't get Mallard cabin but a chickadee substitute seems to be likely.

8:51 - Competition camp; do we want to plan it? Seems that we do, but we need to get much more help from other venturer groups this year. Better organization is required for this year.

8:53 - We elect Kt to become the Competition camp coordinator.

8:55 - Next week we need to come bring idea's for a big trip. Get idea's next week.

8:57 - Search you basements for Kt's booties.

8:58 - Meeting adjourned.
