January 30th, 2003

In attendance: John, Kristine, Michelle, Colin, Rob, Josh, Dawn, Tom (he’s ugly), Mike, [Taylor and Heather are shopping]

7:00: Some arrive and gather gear.

8:02: John resigns from head of fundraising, Tom picks up the slack. He’s complaining about e-mail hassles, Colin has 10 times harder obstacles with e-mail.

8:05: End of February (Feb 28th-March 2nd) will be another Adirondack camp. A ‘yes’ to building the Adirondacks.

8:08: Who’s making the dogsled course? Looks like Rob will figure it out. Kristine’s bringing her radios, Rule #4 is broken on deciding who gets the radios.

8:11: Since Michelle isn’t coming, Will from 15th gets her reject shifts.

8:12: Colin’s amazing observational skills show that nobody’s not wearing shoes, that qualitative observation is quickly debunked as Dawn, Michelle, and Kris show their bare feet.

8:14: Remember people, there is no meeting on the 20th, since we are at the church on the 18th for the banquet.

8:16: No more Leafs hockey game (sorry Taylor), instead it’s baseball. John suggests waiting even later for football season, but he is laughed off stage…as always.

8:18: Ask around who wants to do First Aid, we need one more spot, but can take much more.

8:21: Bring a Friend camp is May 23 weekend. All night laser tag will either be March 29th, or April 5th. The bank balance is announced, we are going steady.

8:24: The double leader rules doesn’t apply to ventures, except when camping, that way Taylor could be a leader, and still happily drive us places.

8:25: Michelle’s dieing.

8:26: Another option for big trip would be 3 international scout groups (us being one) would go to a third world country to help out. Looks like a big trip to Michelle’s bed is a no go.

8:27: Kristine is getting an e-mail from her uncle for ideas on a big trip, perhaps back packing in the grand canyon.

8:30: John suggests going to the Sandwich Islands and seeing volcanoes, of course it’s the best so far. Tom says we go to an expensive Italian camp and having lots of fun, something tells us that his mom did most of the work. This is because he’s saying “my mom thought it would be good if we…”

8:32: Dawn goes back to her kayaking trip in Alaska and seeing a glacier flow. Cool.

8:33: For spring camp Rob thinks we should go to Ottawa and go white water rafting/kayaking. For the big trip he wants to go kayaking in Alaska, pretty much the same as Dawn’s, but it’s done by a couple that would take us pretty much across Alaska. Kristine refers to John’s ripped bod.

8:36: Back to Colin, paddling in the French River for spring camp. For the big trip, perhaps something foreign, Dawn suggests a jamboree in England. Colin thinks in Norway we could hike through the mountains and kayak through the fiords, or hiking through the Rockies.

8:39: Those who don’t have ideas yet MUST present them next week, or else they are not paid attention to.

8:41: We look over people’s ideas that are sadly no longer with us (they’re shopping). Taylor wants to go to New Zealand and hike along the Gap of Rohan, Heather wants to go to Banff and camp there.

8:42: More ideas from Colin is to go to the National Jamboree in the States and show off in front of the 16 year old boys.

8:46: A great, cheap entertainment is looking at the grad pictures in Nelson down the main hallway. Rob is a stereotype.

8:50: George W. is a fake. Rob’s very jealous of John.

8:56: Food has arrived, meeting adjourned.
